Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium Retains Hanold Associates for Chief HR Officer Search

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has retained Hanold Associates for its Chief HR Officer search. Hanold Associates’ Val Lopez, Meg McElroy and Catie Nelson will lead the Omaha, Nebraska based search.

Based in Omaha, Nebraska, the Zoo has more than 1,415 different species and more than 30,000 animals across 162 acres, hosting 1.5-2.0 million visitors a year. The Zoo relies on a team of ~350 full-time and 650 part-time staff members or more to support its mission. World-renowned for its animal, conservation and scientific research programs, the Zoo is one of the most impactful zoo-based education departments in the world, with over 200 educators delivering on its mission through formal educational programs, after-hours and educational camps, and informal interpreted learning.

The Zoo is hiring a new Chief HR Officer to advance programs and increase their impact. This pivotal role will drive the implementation of innovative HR Programs that enhance employee experiences and play a vital role in shaping the future trajectory of the Zoo. This leader will report directly to President and CEO Luis Padilla, serving as a member of the executive leadership team and lead a growing HR team.
