VC-backed StockX retains Hanold Associates for Vice President of Talent Acquisition search based in Detroit or travel to Detroit. Ashley Schiele and Sonia Nagra are leading the search.

StockX, one of the fastest growing start-ups in the US, is an e-commerce company rapidly changing the market for luxury items. Operating online, StockX serves as “the stock market of things” with a live bid/ask marketplace for luxury and lifestyle goods. The market operates with a simple model: when a buyer’s bid matches a seller’s ask, the transaction happens automatically. StockX acts as both the marketplace and the middleman, authenticating every product sold and allowing both buyers and sellers to remain anonymous.

The company currently has a headcount of 895 employees, supporting approximately $100 million in revenue and an expected $1B worth of transactions in 2019. StockX has ambitious growth plans in 2020 and beyond, expecting to nearly double in size. The company is headquartered in Detroit and aims to be a significant part of the city’s revival but has operations internationally to support customers wherever they are, maintaining offices in the United Kingdom, Japan and the Netherlands to support growing international efforts.

StockX has received nearly $200 million in funding at a valuation of more than $1 billion. Its most recent round in spring 2019 included support from DST Global, General Atlantic and GGV Capital. Previous rounds included funding from Salesforce founder Marc Benioff and GV (FKA Google Ventures) as well as the backing of celebrities like Eminem and Mark Wahlberg. The company has made several key moves since the most recent round, including new CEO Scott Cutler, whose experience can propel the company internationally as well as into new markets, such as the recent addition of collectibles.

The VP of Talent Acquisition will provide direction and best practices for recruiting exceptional talent around the globe. This leader will be responsible for employment branding, process improvement, infrastructure and scaling the capabilities/efficiencies of the staffing team and hiring managers by helping create a talent partnership model with the business.
