The Nederlander Organization has retained Hanold Associates for its Executive Director of Diversity and Culture search. Hanold Associates’ Sarah Kennedy and Val Lopez will lead the search for this role.

As one of the largest owners and operators of live theaters and music venues in the United States, the Nederlander Organization is most well-known for its nine Broadway venues in New York City. Headquartered on Broadway in New York City’s Theater District, the organization also operates or presents in over 30 venues globally, including five venues in Chicago, three in London and additional locations in North Carolina, California, Arizona and South Carolina. The Nederlanders have been prolific producers of theatrical productions with over 100 touring and Broadway productions to their credit. The company has been instrumental in presenting many of Broadway’s most honored and successful shows, including Cats, Annie and On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan.

The Nederlander Organization has an incredible legacy and impact, but is still a relatively small, family-owned and operated organization. While it has always been a supporter of diversity and inclusion throughout the company and industry, the organization is hiring its first Executive Director of Diversity and Culture (EDDC)to implement a more concrete diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategy. The EDDC will partner with the company’s existing DEI committees to oversee the organization’s ongoing DEI strategy and create programs and strategies in support of the organization’s four DEI pillars: growing a diverse workforce, increasing and enhancing communication and transparency, providing professional development and growth opportunities and diversifying audiences. This leader will be based in New York City.
