Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Board of Directors Partners with Hanold Associates for Board Search

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights

The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights (Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights) has partnered with Hanold Associates for their Board Member search on their Board of Directors. Jason Hanold, Neela Seenandan, Keri Gavin and Sandra Peña are leading the search.

The Board of Directors composition includes leaders from varied sectors, including those in corporate, human rights, entertainment and the public sector. Members are identified and selected based on their demonstrated interest and commitment to social justice and advancing the legacy and vision of Robert F. Kennedy. Current members include Ethel Kennedy (Founder), Robert Smith (Vista Equity Partners), Tim Cook (Apple), Harry Belafonte (Activist and Entertainer), Martin Sheen (Actor) and Joseph Kennedy III among others. The Leadership Council includes leaders such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former President, Bill Clinton.

There are three board meetings per year. In 2019, there was a retreat at Apple’s new Headquarters in February, then in June, following the Compass Investors Conference in Hyannis Port at the Kennedy Compound, and finally, there will be one following the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Gala Awards in New York City this December and at the Vatican in 2020.

Robert F. Kennedy’s career in public service was distinguished by his willingness to join local activists in demanding change. Whether aiding the Freedom Riders in Alabama, encouraging anti-Apartheid students in South Africa or breaking bread with Cesar Chavez in California, Robert F. Kennedy believed in standing with those who stood against oppression. Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights continues his legacy of joining the brave women and men on the front lines of the struggle for justice. From lawsuits to lesson plans, their programs are designed to empower activists working for change from the ground up.

Directors have three-year renewable terms. The Board of Directors are uniquely placed to help identify strategies to improve and grow the organization and support effective implementation of those strategies. In short, through Board leadership, active support of management and participation in the suite of RFK Human Rights programs and events, Directors play an essential role in the life of the organization.
