Greater Phoenix Leadership Appoints Head of Racial Equity Advancement Project from Partnership with Hanold Associates

Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL), the state of Arizona’s premiere consortium of CEO business leaders, has appointed Michael J. Langley as its Head of Racial Equity Advancement Project. Hanold AssociatesJason Hanold and Keri Gavin aided in the assessment for this newly created role.

GPL has a mission to improve the greater Phoenix area and the state of Arizona by bringing together talent, resources and leadership to create action on priority issues. Some of GPL’s most noteworthy accomplishments are the establishment of the Silent Witness Program, the creation of Phoenix Civic Plaza, founding Valley Leadership, assisting in bringing the NFL Arizona Cardinals from St. Louis in 1988, leading the effort to fund freeway and regional transportation, and helping to establish the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday in 1992. Greater Phoenix Leadership collectively engages over 100 business leaders and their respective nearly 300,000 employees.

GPL members, including Chairman Michael Bidwill, Owner and President of the Arizona Cardinals, and GPL CEO Neil Giuliano, represent a diverse set of business interests and are among the most visionary problem solvers and thought leaders in the state. Membership represents several industries, including higher education, energy, professional sports, development, healthcare, law, banking and finance, construction and technology, plus many more.

Langley recently served as Racial Equity Advisor for DreamSpring and prior to that, as Deputy Director for Global Chamber Phoenix, a Civil & Social Organization helping companies to grow within and across metropolitan areas. At GPL, he will design and implement a sustainable program of education, engagement and advocacy related to racial equity advancement.
