Aspen Dental

Aspen Dental has partnered with Hanold Associates for their Vice President, Human Resources Field Support search. Katrina Prospero and Mayank Parikh are leading the search for this Chicago-based role.

Aspen Dental, the nation’s largest Dental Support Organization, provides business support services including marketing, scheduling, financial and IT tasks to ensure that dentists can focus on providing patients the care they need. Each individual practice is still owned and operated by dentists, but they share in the Aspen Dental branding and support organization. Today, Aspen Dental has 750 practices across 38 states, approximately 10,000 employees and around $1.4B in revenue. Additionally, this year, the company has begun opening offices in collaboration with Walgreen’s, marking the first time in-store dental services are available to Walgreen’s customers.

Founded in 1998 by Robert Fontana, Aspen Dental rapidly expanded from New York with more than 50 establishments within the first five years. In 2010, Leonard Green & Partners, a private equity firm with approximately $23.5B in assets under management, purchased Aspen Dental. The firm currently has a portfolio of many consumer and healthcare companies, including J.Crew, Shake Shack, and MDVIP.

Aspen Dental’s self-proclaimed mission is to break down barriers to better care, better smiles and better lives. They have turned that mission into a movement, which they call the Healthy Mouth Movement. While the company aims to help all Americans with their dental care, Aspen makes a special point to take care of US military veterans with their MouthMobile, dental office on wheels, and has donated over $13M in dental work to vets. Over the past two years, Aspen Dental doctors have also participated in the Overseas Outreach Program, providing dental care to those in need abroad.
