Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is a leader in retail and a staple of American fashion and culture. The company was originally founded in 1892 in Manhattan, New York, by David Abercrombie. Eventually partnering with the brand’s number-one customer, Ezra Fitch, the company’s product offerings focused on high-end outdoor apparel and recreational sporting goods. The company expanded throughout the following decades, opening stores across the United States. It went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 1996 and today, the brand is comprised of three entities: Abercrombie & Fitch – the original brand, a specialty retailer of quality apparel, outerwear and fragrances for both men and women; Abercrombie Kids – founded in 1998 to provide quality, comfortable, made-to-play favorites for children; Hollister – founded in 2000 as the quintessential brand of the teen consumer.

A&F’s global headquarters and renowned campus is in New Albany, Ohio, with regional headquarters in Shanghai, China, and London, United Kingdom, to support its growing international presence. The company expanded to 854 stores worldwide, as well as developing a robust omnichannel digital operations platform with more than $1 billion in annual digital sales. The company revenues were $3.62 billion in 2019 and is publicly traded on the NYSE as ANF.
